Deadline: 1st September
We are delighted that so many of you are keen to join us in person for the second International Sarcopenia Translational Research Conference which will be held in Newcastle upon Tyne UK 5th - 6th October 2023.Due to the high levels of demand for in-person attendance we have decided that all elements of the conference will now be offered face-to-face only.
There are still in-person places available but we recommend that you register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Workshops - Day 2
The theme of the conference is Where Worlds Meet. Our aim is to highlight the importance of sarcopenia and advance knowledge through encouraging interdisciplinary collaborations and supporting the development of early career researchers. Our programme provides many networking opportunities including small-group workshops on Day 2. Conference attendees will be able to sign up for one of two interactive workshops:
Workshop 1: Building Interdisciplinary Research Teams: Are you thinking about an interdisciplinary project in sarcopenia & want to make connections with potential collaborators? Are you interested in becoming an interdisciplinarian & want to learn more about collaborations? This workshop will give you the opportunity to learn new skills and meet new colleagues.
Workshop 2: New Ways of Characterising Skeletal Muscle: This workshop will provide an overview and some practical experience of new and emerging techniques to assess skeletal muscle function. The focus will be on tools that can help differentiate the underlying aetiology of weakness by targeting different aspects of the motor pathway from brain to myofiber.
We will be in touch shortly to invite people who have registered for the conference to sign-up to attend one of these workshops. Please do watch out for this announcement as we expect the workshops to be very popular and places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
