Aishah is an orthoptist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. She is trying to develop guidance to help hospital staff to assess vision in inpatients at risk of falls. An assessment of vision will not only help to prevent falls, but also aid rehabilitation and promote independence, wellbeing and safer movement inside and outside hospital.
A draft of the guidance has been developed but needs feedback from the public, service providers, practitioners and policy makers. If you would like to participate in a focus group study to share your views, please see the flyer attached.
The study is being conducted as part of a PhD with the University of Nottingham. It is funded by Vivensa foundation (ARHV23/1), supported by the National Institute for Health Research and has ethical approval from the Health Research Authority and a Research Ethics Committee (IRAS ID: 346401).
