The AGILE Research and Education Fund supports members to develop and advance physiotherapy practice with older people through funding opportunities for research, education, and professional development. The fund can be used to support a range of activities, including research projects, quality improvement work, conferences, courses, and training events, particularly where these contribute to improving care for older adults. By investing in these activities, AGILE aims to build knowledge, enhance skills, and promote innovation within the physiotherapy workforce working with older people
Before applying please read the following conditions
- Applicants must be a current member of AGILE, and must have held a membership for at least the previous two full consecutive years.
- The research/conference/course inc higher education/training event for which funding is being sought must be shown to be linked to physiotherapy with the older person.
- The fund can be used to support research and quality improvement. This may include, PPI work prior to other projects i.e early input design. Applications for the award should be made on this application form.
- The application form requires detailed information of the research / conference / course / training event. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all of the required information is provided to avoid any delay in the decision-making process.
If successful in receiving the funding, you cannot reapply for the same type of funding for two years.
Application Process
- The committee will review applications twice a year, in March and September. You must apply well in advance of the deadline for the research/course/event/training to give the committee enough time to review the application and make a decision, keeping in mind any early bird discount deadline that may apply.
Due to the change in reviewing pattern, funds could be paid retrospectively, if the course deadline has passed.
Funding Amount
- There is a cap of £1500 for the research / conference / course / training event which is inclusive of fees, accommodation and travel.
