Virtual Physiotherapy UK - Ageing Well

Dear AGILE Members,

Some of you who were with us in Belfast for AGILE’s 2019 conference will know that this year we are not hosting our own conference, instead we have teamed up with PTUK (vPUK this year) to deliver in collaboration the CSP, the Ageing Well strand. Our Ageing Well strand runs across both days and covers a wide range of topics including silver trauma, falls and postural control, frailty and partnership working.  And with the event being virtually delivered this year, there is potential for more (than ever before) AGILE members to join the event and acquire the knowledge and learning to be had, first hand.

Physiotherapy UK- the live event, planned for 13-14 November in Birmingham – will not take place. Instead, a virtual vPUK 2020 will welcome up to 2,000 delegates each day into a huge virtual world designed exclusively for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, with full avatar-based interaction.  Delegates will still be able to network as they would at a physical event and so you can still expect to chat to fellow AGILE members at an AGILE exhibition stand, view various abstract sessions and generally meet people through the networking spaces within the virtual conference space. vPUK is a unique way to experience a conference.  It has many benefits;  network while staying a  safe distance, no travel or accommodation costs and best of all building your own avatar.  If you haven’t viewed the short demo which showcases the virtual event platform, please do so today and then for £99* you can book your place and download the specially-created Physiotherapy UK world.

AGILE will host their Annual General Meeting at vPUK this year too. We have the option of inviting AGILE members to join the AGM even if they do not wish to attend the actual vPUK conference - without needing to pay. Please can I ask on behalf of AGILE that you consider attending the AGM - it will give you a full sense of the breadth and scale of the work undertaken by AGILE committee in the last 12 months and also allow you to vote on suggested changes to the committee and/or AGILE constitution.

If you plan on signing up for vPUK and will come to the AGILE AGM - please drop the AGILE secretary an email to advise that you will join the AGM as a delegate.

If you would like to join the AGM but not vPUK, please also email the AGILE secretary making this request clear in your email  - this is to allow us to inform the CSP vPUK team so they can provide you with access to the AGM on the 13th or 14th November (TBC).

Keep an eye on twitter for the latest updates #Physio20 on Twitter.

We look forward to meeting you and your avatar at the event in November.

Best wishes
